Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Are we really starting to read this book in the middle? I purchased my book from the Seton Hill Bookstore and 68-137 is in the middle of my book. And what is meant by "Notice" through Chap 14? Do I have the wrong book? This is one of the many things that confuse me in this class.

The story of Huck Finn starts with a brief item called "Notice," and there are a few other brief items before chapter 1. The edition I asked the bookstore to stock has some background articles, some of which we will be reading in class. Perhaps a different professor is teaching from a different edition of the book? I will look into this.

The bookstore says that the edition I requested, ISBN 039598078X was out on the shelves, but there are no more copies at the moment.

On Oct 13, one of the assigned readings is from the scholarly material that is part of that edition of Huck Finn. There will also be some exercises where I ask you to use the scholarly material that is part of that edition.

So for next week, you can get started by reading up to Chapter 14 of pretty much any edition of Huck Finn, but we will start using the material that is only found in this particular edition.
