"The hall of the imagination is where we usually live; and this is all right except one must leave one's real sorrow at the door..."

"HENRI, sudden sharpness: It is true, Felix! And the symptom of course is orange hair." (Miller 12).

“He says the Russians have always had more ideas than any other people in history and ended in the pit. The Americans have no ideas and they have one success after another. I am trying to have no ideas”. –Resurrection Blues p. 2

“…with that kind of money I could put the police into decent shoes and issue every one of them a poncho. And real sewers…we could maybe have our own airline and send all our prostitutes to the dentist…”

"SKIP: --But I should think if he is confident that he is about to . . . like meet his father in heaven, you could put it to him as a test of his faith that he not scream on camera. The camera, you see, tends to magnify everything and screaming on camera could easily seem in questionable taste.

Felix, now a certain anxiety beings to seep out more openly: Yes! Go ahead, what is it?...Isn't that cap too hot?
Henri: It helps my arthritis." (9)

Survival can be hard to live with…(3)

This statement by Jeanine shows that Miller is expressing through this character that life is hard. It is harder to stay here in this world and try to survive than to make a choice to end your life by committing suicide.
