Literary Theory
We
might call literary theory the study of the specialized criteria that
helps scholars make critical judgment. We might call it the practice
of identifying and engaging with the different sets of criteria that
literary critics use in order to determine what works are worthy of
academic study, and what questions to ask about those works.
