September 2008 Archives

I recommend that you watch the tutorials outside of class time, and use class time to try to follow the steps on your own.

Work with the tool you'll use to create your own screencast in Ex 1-2.

Finish the tutorials and begin working on your own individual creation. Blog about your progress, asking questions, and pointing to useful resources you find online.

Continue to develop your own creation and blog your progress.

Use CamStudio to record a 5-minute Blender3D tutorial. Try to find an online text-only tutorial, and use it as a basis for your screencast. (If you're simply following someone else's steps, you'll need to say so in your screencast.) Publish on your blog.

Update, 04 Sept:

Start your tutorial by saying "I'm [Name]. This tutorial will show you how to use Blender 3D in order to [do whatever]."

Finish your tutorial by saying "For the New Media Journalism program at Seton Hill University, I'm [Your Name]."

Continue to develop your own creation and blog your progress.

We're switching to a new tool, but please continue the process of blogging about your progress.

Some exercises to familiarize you with how interactive fiction is supposed to work.

(We will complete these in class.)

Begin to develop your own IF project, and blog your progress.

Develop your ideas for a 5-minute Inform 7 screencast, and a screencast of interest to the SHU community (such as how to find a peer-reviewed article in the library database, how to register for a course online, etc.)
