At this stage, be ready to trim down initial expectations that may have been too lofty. A well-coded, well-written game with a few rooms will be more satisfying for the player than an unfinished epic full of doors that don't go anywhere and puzzles that don't work.
Focus on the beginning and ending scenes, and as you have time, you can insert a middle section.
