What are your goals for this class? Write a single paragraph, about 200 words, in a form that demonstrates you have mastered the paragraph skills taught in Basic Composition. Submit it by uploading it to Turnitin.com. (I sent an e-mail with the login instructions to your SHU e-mail address.)

Include brief quotations (several words or phrases, rather than several complete sentences) from at least three different sources (such as the catalog description of your major, the syllabus for this class, or a paper you wrote for another class) that support your main idea.

Bring these sources (or printouts that include the URLs) to class, along with your copy of SF Writer (or some other freshman comp handbook that contains a section on citing sources), for a sourcing-and-citing workshop.
