Playmobil Security Checkpoint (Playmobil||Metafilter)

I’m not sure what I think of this. It’s far better than plastic grenades to strap around your waist.

By the way, the site designers make it extremely hard to link to an internal page… I guess they don’t want much inbound traffic. Link goes to MetaFilter’s page on the subject.

  1. Their happy little smiles and rosy cheeks…and empty eyeholes…really freak me out. The uncanny automatism of all this really captures today’s culture of paranoia. I’m horrified and disgusted. But yay, invading privacy is fun!

  2. The little figures should have to remove their suspicious little shoes and run them through the x-ray machine too.

  3. Dennis, LOL…I see elements of Homeland Security and the Patriot Act, but all of it is disguised as a so-called child’s toy. I find it especially funny since returning from San Antonio. Maybe on the side we are not seeing, there is a sign that reads, “Remove film from bags. X-Ray will destroy it.”
