There are a total of 50 items on the list.

I graduated from high school in 1986, the year most incoming freshmen were born. Events such as the destruction of the Challenger (Space Shuttle Orbiter) and the “Baby Jessica down the well” media circus have been in my psyche so long I can hardly remember my own mindset before I knew those things.

  1. I remember..outside of Ames, when it was still there..there being a Crystal Pepsi machine. I would by Crystal Pepsi like crazy, because it tasted so good!

  2. Out of the eight items from this excerpt, I am familiar with some things in #1, like Desi Arnaz and Roy Orbison because of my interest in popular culture and love of oldies music; #3 because I remember watching episodes of Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show in syndication; #4 is one I don’t see too much anymore on TV; #7 because I thought Crystal Pepsi was great; and #8 because I remember watching that story unfold on TV.

  3. I know that list doesn’t apply to me..but I don’t alot of the stuff on that list either, and I’m a good 3-years-older than that list is for.
