Hey, Tony. See this photo of Shrek?
Here, stand by this window, with the light on the left side of your face. Now, give me a closed-mouth smile. And tilt your head a little.
Okay, that looks good. But I’ve got a spare hour or so.
As a child of the 70s, I fondly recall the Bill Bixby / Lou Ferrigno “Incredible Hulk” TV show.
Hmm… when I line up the eyes and the chin, the mouth and nose don’t match.
My copy of GIMP (an open-source alternative to PhotoShop) has some tools for distorting images. Â Let’s enlarge that eye… and let’s do a perspective distort on the head…
Okay, not bad.
Next steps: move the chin and mouth down, re-align the nose, and add an extra horn. For a final touch, clean up the enlarged eye. (I copied Shrek’s iris, and partially laid it out over Tony’s real eye.)
Okay, that’s getting even better — though the image needs some smoothing and polishing.
That, and the final presentation, took another hour.
