Thank you for replying to my question about character thought. I read what was e-mailed to me, but I can not seem to locate the whole of your response. I do use the italics to emphasis words. Another writer pointed out to me that so mobile devices will not show the reader the italics, hence the single quotation marks or as you suggest no punctuation. I’m still trying to understand the ‘no punctuation. Thank you for re-visiting my question.

Ha! Yes, good memory — I did that too, in BASIC on the Atari 800 with Moon Drop and got terrible results but *I could do it*. Later I also found that one could use ResEdit to hack some of the early games on my Mac SE-30.

Interesting. I’ll have to show this to my teen who thinks he can watch TV and do homework on the computer at the same time. There is a typo in your article: “Because many of the students who can’t resist checking their phone in class or during one-on-one office visits are also the same students who have difficulty following instructiins, meeting deadlines, managing a life-school-work balance, etc.”
