Boilerplate: Mechanical Marvel of the Nineteenth Century

"Boilerplate was a mechanical man developed by Professor Archibald Campion during the 1880s and unveiled at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition." A remarkably convincing fake website by Paul Guinan. --Boilerplate: Mechanical Marvel of the Nineteenth Century

For more on the Columbian Exposition, see "Expo - Magic of the White City," a new DVD narrated by Gene Wilder. www.ColumbianExpo.com

In trying to determine whether this blog entry has just been spammed, I found a page that offers "permission" to link to pages on the ColumbianExpo domain name, but only on several conditions, one of which being that the link be used to promote the DVD in a good light. http://www.inecom.com/usage.asp I haven't seen the DVD, but since I don't agree to those terms, I'm removing the link. You can still type in the URL yourself if you want.
