OK, asking 250 students to post questions on Twitter during a class doesn't risk life or limb. But it can cause ego damage if the mob of students in his course on personal finance gets disorderly online. --ChronicleTeaching with technology changes the dynamics of the teacher-student relationship, putting more control in the hands of the students. This can be disorienting for students who are used to traditional methods, but the students are IMing each other during class anyway -- it makes sense to acknowledge and use student's e-communication skills.
