Broken Biscuit Breakthrough

“We now have a greater understanding of why biscuits develop cracks shortly after being baked.” — PhD student Qasim Saleem, quoted in an article by Christine McGourty —Broken Biscuit Breakthrough (BBC)

A biscuit in the UK is what Americans refer to as a “cracker”. Thanks for the suggestion, Rosemary.

  1. Professor Jerz, sir, in all humbleness, Ben and I must correct you on your annotation for this one. A biscuit in the U.K. is actually a cookie in the U.S., though they are a little like a cracker in that they aren’t as sweet (nor as large!) as our super-sugar snacks. So you had it partially correct! :)
