Primetime Cheating (Pedablogue)

My colleague Mike Arnzen has already created the blog entry I was about to create, so I’ll just link to him.

  1. Yes, Ron, you’re probably right… I’d probably make the students hand-write the notes, so they couldn’t simply download a cheat sheet and share it.I have great memories of take-home finals at the University of Virginia… and because I did them on my computer, I have records of the essays I produced under the influence of days of cramming and an adrenaline-fueled timed writing session. I sure used to know a lot about some subjects!

  2. One of the best solutions to cheating are the dread open book & open notes tests – the ones where if you have to open your book, you’re in big trouble – where students have to prepare 4-5 pages of notes specifically for the test if they want any chance of passing.
On the other hand, I can’t imagine there are many take-home finals anymore…
