Becasue a scholarship program designed to increase the number of male teachers was ruled sexist, the Catholic school system in Austrailia was forced to add an equal number of scholarships for female teachers. It’s great they have the money to support that many scholarships, but this sounds ridiculous.

Similarly, in the US, very few elementary school teachers are male. There have been measures taken to encourage men towards that field, but I’m unsure of any specifics.
It’s a good idea to get a mix of male and female teachers for young children so they don’t receive only one perspective. But that’s just my opinion :^)
