Chilly Break

Welcome to EL267, American Literature 1915-Present. I'm looking forward to meeting many of you for the first time, and getting to know some of you better.

This website is the official syllabus. All the readings, major class activities, and due dates are already listed on the web site. The "Main" page will show current and recent class activities. (At first it will only show this message.)

The pages that are probably of most interest to you right now are the "Syllabus" and "Outline" tabs. You can also see what's scheduled for a given day by clicking on any day (from the calendar to the right of your screen.)

The class meets once a week, from 6-8:30pm (with a 5-minute break somewhere around 7:15).  Usually you will have online assignments that are due on by 10am Fridays (in order to give me time to review them in time for Monday's class).  I've put a reminder in the course calendar for the first few weeks, until you get into the rhythm of the course.

You don't need to have anything prepared for the first class, but if you want to read ahead I suggest you start reading The Great Gatsby (which we'll study during our second and third class meetings).
