P1: Respond to ''College Writing''
What is your single, most significant response to the words "college writing"? Rather than start churning out several different answers and listing them one after another until you have produced 200 words, focus on a single idea or response that most effectively reflects your response. I'm going to give you a few prompts, but please do not answer the questions one after the other and submit that as your paragraph. Feel free to ignore every single question on this list and come up with your own response instead.
- Do you have an emotional reaction to the term "college writing"?
- Is the emotional reaction strong enough that it has a physical component?
- Is there a kind of writing that you like best -- song lyrics, text messages to significant other, fanfiction, IM away messages, or photo captions on Flickr?
- Think of some way that writing is most relevant to your life.
But it's important to remember the assignment doesn't ask you to write a list of several different ways that writing has been important to your life... use your mental responses to these prompts to help you determine, on your own, before you turn in your paragraph, what is your single, most significant response to "college writing."
