I just noticed a mild traffic spike over the past few days, and after a little digging, learned a page on my blog is currently first out of 2 billion hits for something I blogged about in July.
A different, related search returns the same page first out of 2.4 billion hits.
Thanks to traffic arriving from Google as a result of these searches, yesterday that page was the fourth-most visited page on my site, and since midnight tonight it has ranged from third to fifth (trending down). Practically speaking, this doesn’t have a huge impact on my site, other than an unexpected 10% boost in traffic. Still, it’s interesting.
