Did you grow up hoping to catch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when it aired on TV, once a year? Are you a teacher or parent who has seen how much kids still love the story of kind, generous Charlie, and the magnificent, mysterious Mr. Wonka, in whatever form it takes?
The original 1964 book, two movies, and live stage productions, which never fail to entertain and amaze, can also act as a springboard for further learning. No matter how your students or children have come to know the story, these activity pages will help you enrich their appreciation of Roald Dahl’s creations– and it just might help us all keep control over the little bit of Augustus, Violet, Veruca and Mike in all of us.
Leave a comment below, and share your ideas for combining learning with the joy of reading, watching, or singing Dahl’s sweetest story.

I wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed the guide for "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". I know there are some great idea in there that I can use to help keep my girls busy over the summer. I saw on your main page that some of the material was put together to go with productions by Stage Right of Greensburg. Do you know if there are any videos of their production that might be available. We have the Willy Wonka movies, but the live version would be a nice thing to see as we take on some of the activities. If you can provide any information or point me in the right direction that would be great.
Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words. I'll be sure to tell my wife, who put lots of work into that page. For legal reasons, Stage Right can't sell videos of the production. But it's a very popular show -- I'll bet next spring you can find some high school in your area that's putting it on.
