Portfolio 3
Overview:
1) Lab Report (freshmen) OR Workshop Report (editors)
2) Action Item (all students)
Upload both, in a single file, in the Portfolio 3 slot in Turnitin.com.
Details
1a) Lab Report (freshmen... inverted pyramid news feature; 400 words)
Reminder... here is the rubric for your lab report.
If you have not already posted your reflection and photos from the field trip (or the make-up assignment), please let me know when you plan to do so.
1b) Workshop Report (informal but detailed, practical reflection, 150 words)
2) Action Item proposal
Propose an "action item." A concrete, specific, practical thing that needs to be done for the long-term good of The Setonian.
(It might be a checklist for a procedure you find challenging, a new poster to hang on the wall in the publications office, an interview with someone who has a skill that you want to develop.)
(You will submit this "action item" as part of Portfolio 4. It should be something concrete that you can turn in and add to your own professional portfolio, rather than something like cleaning up the office.)

1b) Workshop Report (informal but detailed, practical reflection, 150 words)
- Aja, reflect on your Setonian Online workshops. (What did you learn from the second try? How might a future EL200 editor build on your experiences?)
- Maddie: due to the timing, your full reflection should
wait until after you have completed the Setonian layout workshops.
(What follow-up do we need? How might a future EL200 editor build on
your experiences?) If you could have that in by next Monday, that will
be great.

Center spread pitches. (Convince an imaginary editor that you can produce 3-4 related stories, with images, filling up 2 newspaper pages, by your 07 Dec deadline. You'll need to talk to your sources in advance, so you know there's really a story.)
