Jerz, "Somewhere Nearby is Colossal Cave"
Read the abstract and paragraphs 1-13; skim 14-51 for a treatment of code, and skim 52-78 for a treatment of setting and culture; read 79-end for conclusions.

I'm glad to see that several of you enjoyed the encounter with the real cave. I think this was more effective after you've at least encountered the game, even if only through Peter's playthrough.
We've talked a bit about story and setting, but let's also consider the code, since any game has to have rules, and in a computer game, the programming defines the rules.
What did you make of this peek behind the curtain?
