See SHU's production of Life is a Dream. The production runs February 27 to March 7.

If you can see "Life is a Dream" before Ex 5 is due, please use the SHU production (and the script) as your literary text (for either formalism or psychological criticism).

Otherwise, use the SHU production and the script as the literary text for Ex 6 (on intertextuality).

In Keesey, Appendix B. This is a long story, written in a style that will require some concentration. Don't leave this until the last minute.

Assigned Text:

Shakespeare, The Tempest

If you are not already familiar with this play, you will need to read it or watch a video in order to fully understand the assigned critical readings.

In Keesey, Appendix C.

In Keesey, Appendix A. We will read this in class.

You may wish to start reading Keesey Appendix B, ''Benito Cereno.''

If you have not read The Tempest before, you should read it before we start discussing articles about it.
