Here's the link to a blog entry with links to the readings for my presentation:

One of them is a short (4-minute) video titled "The Power of Writing."

The other is a brief NY Times article, "The Power of the Adolescent Pen."

I'm not sure how Dr. Jerz wants us to respond to peer presentation readings, but mine are so short that I'd argue one agenda item for both is fine, should you choose to respond to them.

I'll post the richly-linked presentation entry later, but I wanted to post something now so everyone has something to respond to early.

Within the text there are some links to the IPA website and charts to illustrate what I am talking about. There is a lot I couldn't blog about, because you cannot type IPA on a regular keyboard. Also, I will need some time to set up some drawings on the board, so does anyone mind if I go first?

I've still got some links I want to add to it, but the argument is more or less complete.

As an aside, notice that in the video I blogged as a required reading, a bit of cheap advertising is thrown in, in the form of books written by each scholar flying onto the screen. These guys are obviously knowledgeable on the topics we've covered in class, so you might consider looking up those books and using them as sources for the academic research essays we have to write later on.
