Why? Why? Why am I spending Friday night clearing out my in box?
There were 1900 e-mails in my in box when I sat down an hour ago. Now there are only 1250 or so. I feel good about that, but pathetic at the same time.
There has to be a German word for “the feeling you get when you are happy to be making a little progress in something, but then you realize how pitiful you really are to be happy about such a dorky thing on a Friday night.”

So, the answer to my question, "Why am I at home last night sorting e-mails on a Friday night," is apparently because I lost track of Mike Arnzen's e-mailed invitation to do dinner that night.
