Alas for You (Godspell, Stage Right)

Three weeks ago tonight, I got an email from the director saying he thought he could use me in the cast. A whirlwind of rehearsals, a week of run-throughs, three performances, and we’re done. Wow! The first act of Godspell is almost entirely fun and games, but the second act quickly moves through the confrontation with the Pharisees (depicted in this number) the betrayal of Judas, the passion and crucifixion. David Mahokey, who played our Jesus, is a cancer survivor. The director worked his leg brace into the show, using it to depict the frail humanity taken on by the Son of God.
David Mahokey stars as Jesus.
Here I channel Gollum in our version of a parable.
Carolyn's head is just visible over the shoulders of two fellow angels.
Acting out the parable of the servant who owes his master a great debt.
Force-choked by Jesus. (Sounds like the name of a Christian punk band.)

This is manageable. Far better than some semesters.

Creating textures for background buildings in a medieval theater simulation project. I can always improve this later. #blender3d
