Ex 2-2: Review and Revisions
Summary: Review two classmates' online resumes, and write a brief essay about the changes you made to your own. Upload the essay to Turnitin.com, and post the URL of your resume on this page.
Details
Part A) Now that you've created and uploaded your resume website, trade feedback with two peers. (You will have some time in class Monday to do this.) Write 50-100 words that evaluate your peer's online resume. (Don't post this feedback online without your peer's permission -- I'm conscious that some people may not feel ready to have their resumes critiqued in public. Regardless of whether you post it onine, put it the essay that you upload to Turnitin.com, along with Part B, below.)
Part B) Based on the feedback you have received, revise/expand/improve your site. Write a brief paragraph (about 200 words) that calls my attention to the most significant specific chages you made. (Since you'll be overwriting your old site, you'll need to call my attention to the improvements.)
Your goal for the revision is to demonstrate your ability to apply what you have learned from Kilian, so rather than just copying and pasting a resume you have already formatted for print, aim to break up big blocks of prose with bold keywords and bulleted lists. Consider breaking up long pages into several separate short pages, or alternate blocks of prose with bulleted lists, and experiment with using graphics to fill blank spaces. Use hyperlinks to make it easier for your reader to read more about the organizations, courses, or accomplishments you include in your resume.
Part C) Just a reminder -- on the course website, post the URL of your resume (so I can find it easily).

so are we supposed to trade resume critiques??? how?
Yes... that's what we were doing during the first 10 minutes of class today. If you need to arrange a review on your own, I'm sure you can ask someone right before or after class on Wednesday, or arrange something via e-mail.
