That really doesn't take anything away from those things that *are* difficult.
"It's a lot of hard, endless, time consuming work." Sounds like being a parent, or being a student, or doing anything else worth doing.
I believe you can study, and restudy the dictionary several times and still find words you know nothing about. David and the others did an awesome job. It takes a lot of mind preparation to even think you're ready for that stage. I know, I've been knocked out of state 2 times trying to get to the National Spelling Bee. It's a lot of hard, endless, time consuming work. ( Sounds like having a job, doesn't it?) He deserves all the recognition for reaching his goal.
