A thorough analysis of the Koran reveals that the US will cease to exist in the year 2007, according to research published by Palestinian scholar Ziad Silwadi.

That's funny. In the US we call these people "crackpots" rather than "scholars". Must be a cultural thing.
Anyway, speaking as someone who lives in Denver, a good mile-plus above sea level, I can safely say that anything that wipes out the US will pretty much do a number on the rest of the globe.
