Wanna buy an enigma machine?

Great photos of the German code machine.

Graham Nelson simulated one of these machines in his text adventure game Jigsaw, and as a result I feel like I’ve operated one of them.

  • No - I'd rather build one! The cover of this month's issue of "Notices of the American Mathematical Society" has illustrations of Alan Turing's original 1940 treatise on the Enigma machine :) This is to highlight the fact that this year's Math Awareness month will concentrate of mathematics and internet security.
