Writing Exercise

Now the only reason to give a character a serious hang up is to give him the chance to get over it.

I liked this quote because without the charcter's hang-up (whether a bias, relationship problem, etc), the literary work or even movie scene would be boring and unoriginal. I also liked how the author compared dinner to "communion", and said not all literary commuinions are holy. I never thought much about the "food scenes", but this is so interesting. So much can happen during dinner, and so much about the characters are revealed.
