During DS9 Season 6—home to episodes like Sacrifice of Angels and Far Beyond the Stars—I moved to a city without a local station airing Deep Space Nine.
I remember thinking I should someday make time to rewatch the series, from the pilot episode Emissary through the finale What You Leave Behind. Now, years later, that “someday” has arrived—and I’m revisiting Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode by episode (with reviews that poke fun at the technobabble and celebrate great writing). For a series that I remember for its dysfunctional ensemble, with deep character arcs, and expansive world-building, I’m delighted by the writing, the acting, and the production values (in an age when CGI was the exception, not the rule).
It took me about three years to get through my ST:TNG rewatch. I hope to get through my ST:DS9 rewatch a lot faster.
