One of the most popular pages on my site — a single page that earns about 20% of my hits — started out as a class assignment for a technical writing student whose project for a real-world client ran into a snag. In Fall 2002, I showed my student Kathy Kennedy a model of a “Top 10 Tips” document, and she went to work, turning in a excellent guide. Over the years I have continued to tweak and adjust it, eventually to the point where I added my name as co-author.
While it’s designed specifically to provide help to people writing short stories, its tips will be useful to NaNoWriMo participants who would like a little jolt of energy.
