You know, I’ve loved Firefox for a long, long time. I can’t live without my tabbed browsing, I’m literally lost without it, but with Firefox 2.0 someone at Mozilla has totally dropped the ball when it comes to the most compelling feature I use Firefox for, and that’s the tabs feature. —Duncan Riley —2 things I hate about Firefox 2.0 (duncanriley.com)
On my laptop, I’ve already implemented one of the fixes Riley suggests, and I’m blogging this so I can find it when I get back to the office Monday so I can add the fix to my work computer.

Yes, but if you open a lot of tabs, and then you want to close them, previously you could mouse over to the single “x” and just click, click, click, and close all the ones you don’t want anymore.
I found I more frequently noticed my annoyance at not having the close box where I was used to it being, than pleased by being able to close an unwanted tab more quickly.
It’s really just a matter of preferences. If I hadn’t gotten used to the way Firefox 1.5 was, I wouldn’t miss that particular feature.
What?! I love the new scrolling tabs feature! I find it is much easier to close tabs you decide you don’t want open (even if the tab is not currently selected). Before, it would take two clicks. I think having an individual tab close button is much more useful and pragmatic for many reasons such as these.
