Work and Life Balance

I think I must be doing something right if the professionals I see each year at Computers and Writing are as likely to mention seeing Facebook pictures of my kids’ achievements as they are to bring up topics about, you know, computers and writing.

I’m conscious that academia creates a space where I can feel comfortable talking about my family in a professional context, and that female professionals don’t always have that priviIege.
