August Wilson, 60, one of America’s greatest playwrights, has told the Post-Gazette he is dying of liver cancer.
“It’s not like poker, you can’t throw your hand in,” he said by phone from Seattle. “I’ve lived a blessed life. I’m ready.” —Christopher Rawson —Playwright Wilson says he’s dying (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)
I’ll be teaching Wilson’s Fences in my “Drama as Literature” class.

Sadly, that time slot is spoken for. It seems that there are far too many courses I want to take this semester that overlap. History of Western Art I and your drama course; Shakespeare and Dr. A’s film course… Makes me feel constricted to have to choose like I do.
Nonetheless, a great playwright, that August Wilson.
There are still spaces, if you’re free MWF at 9!
I actually saw “Fences” about 3 years ago at the O’Reilly in downtown Pittsburgh. Excellent play–sorry I’m missing the class :-/
